The holiday's are here and we're celebrating by walking like penguins.
Join the walk &
roll club on Wednesday December 12 and walk or bike to school instead of
driving.
Walk or bike to school on your
own or join a walking school bus from the Train Station or DiRenzo Park.
Walking buses leave at 8 am. See "Walking School Bus" tab above for
the route map.
Students who walk or bike to school receive a special backpack
charm. Stop by the front of the school to pick up your charm.
Fun Fact
Penguins lost the ability to fly millions of years ago, but their powerful flippers make them very accomplished swimmers. Emperor penguins walk slowly and do not hop. The maximum walking speed for emperors is about 1.7 miles per hour. Children on a walking school bus walk at about 2 miles per hour.
